#1 Something that took place in school

Boy's Brigade day (BB day) is a day to celebrate the founding of the Boy's Brigade. This event falls yearly on the 12th of January. I believe if you are a reader from Victoria School, you would have seen the Boy's Brigade standing in front of the whole Parade Square to commemorate the BB day. As you seen us do drill for the whole assembly, you will think that it is not a hard task, but you are wrong.

Just to get ready for this day, we have to attend three training sessions with each of at least 2 hours long. This was made just to perfect our drill movements and to ensure there is perfect coordination among us. Those who made mistakes were called out to watch us do our drill. Also, the training was tough and we were made to do countless number of push ups.

After three days of intensive training, it was finally BB day! We had to gather at the Boy's Brigade room early in the morning at 6.45 am. Just to satisfy this requirement and not be late, I had to wake up at 5.30 am. This did not help much when i did not have a good night sleep the previous night. Fortunately, I did not sleep in class on that day.

After gathering at the Boy's Brigade room, we went up to the parade square to do some last minute practicing for the big event. We did the drill for about half an hour before a prefect came up. It was already about time for the assembly when the parade commander asked a prefect where the assembly was held. To our horror, the assembly was held at the hall! We rushed down and ran like never before just to not get late for this major event. However, it all turned out to be a trick. We were called back, some others cursing the parade commander on being so gullible. We quickly shuffled back to our positions and stood still to act as if nothing happened.

Soon, everyone started coming in to the parade square and we waited patiently for the reading period to end. Once it finished, the parade commander's voice thundered throughout the parade square and we showed everyone a fine display of drills. Just before we left, we were greeted with a round of applause which made me feel my efforts were worth it.

In the end, what happened was a success. We gathered back at the Boy's Brigade room and the teacher praised us for our drill. I find this a good experience for me as I get to be part of a major event of my CCA. I really hope I can get a few points for this.
